In 2018, we began to deliberately use our painting to take a position on political and social issues at sites of conflict, such as the Hambach Forest complex. (Art as a political statement.) From that point onward, in addition to our identity as artists, we have also understood ourselves as activists / art activists.
We are currently living through a complex period of transformation—a turning point in history that demands changes to many of the habits and certainties we have long taken for granted.
We can all learn to look more closely—and to act.
